- This is extremely interesting: Apparently Google has bots scanning IRC networks for links now. It seems this would be a possible way for them to discover resource nodes with little existing inbound or outbound connectivity. Yet another reason simply having a “private” URI for something does not ensure it’s security.(via GoogleWatch)
- Whoops! Apple’s Safari 1.1 is vulnerable to a two year old Netscape cookie exploit. Apple has a fairly terrible track record of timely patching for security problems, so it should be interesting to see how long this one takes them to fix. (via Bugtraq)
- Slashdot, the dubious #1 site for all news nerdy, is still using templates developed under HTML 3.2. Daniel Frommelt does a nice job of showing how one would update Slashdot’s templates for contemporary publishing standards.
- Who on earth wants to spend $250 on a mouse and keyboard? Well for starters: me. I’m looking forward to messing around with some BlueTooth programming and trying to reverse engineer my own drivers for the mediapad to get it to do neat things. I know, I know… nerd.
